What we collect,
who we share it with, and why.

A short, honest read of the data Spottr actually handles — the inputs you give us, the one third-party processor we share billing with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Four kinds of data, no more:

  • Waitlist email. Submitted through /start — the two-minute onboarding flow. Held until you claim a watchlist or ask to be removed.
  • Stripe billing fields. Collected by Stripe Connect during checkout through our @/lib/stripe-billing integration (a hosted redirect to Stripe Checkout). Spottr never sees your card number directly — Stripe handles it under their own privacy terms.
  • Dashboard account and scrape-target data. Your auth session, the watchlist items you add (URL, display name, and the platforms you choose to watch), the change history Spottr records for them, your preferences (alert cadence per plan, Auto Tweet opt-in), and your selected tier.
  • Contact-form messages. The message body you write and the email address you type it from.

How we use it

To provide the service: run the scrapers against the targets you add, render the diffs in the dashboard, and send the alerts you’ve subscribed to. To bill you through Stripe. To answer the questions you send through the contact form. And to send the weekly digest if you’re subscribed to it. Nothing else — no advertising, no resale, no profiling across other sites.

Who we share it with

Stripe is the only third-party processor we share data with. They act as the payment processor for billing and have their own privacy terms. We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share it with anyone outside of Stripe and the hosting/platform layer (Polsia, who runs the application).

Retention

Subscription state stays for the life of the account plus 30 days after cancellation to honour refunds. Change-history retention matches the plan window described on /pricing (Solo and Team keep the last year; Agency keeps a longer window). Contact-form messages are kept for 12 months for support continuity. You can request earlier deletion at any time by email — see the contact section below.

Your choices

Cancel your subscription self-serve from Settings → Billing → Cancel. Opt out of emails and the weekly digest from Settings → Notifications. Request a copy of your data, or request deletion, by email — we’ll action both within 30 days.
